Gàidhlig / Gaelic

Tha taic don Ghàidhlig aig cridhe ar raon-dleastanais airson leasachadh eaconamach is sòisealta air a’ Ghàidhealtachd agus anns na h-Eileanan. Supporting Gaelic is at the heart of our remit for economic and social development in the Highlands and Islands.

Gàidhlig

Tha Gàidhlig na pàirt chudromach de bheatha chultarail, eaconamach agus sòisealta na Gàidhealtachd agus nan Eilean. Aig HIE tha sinn ag aithneachadh an comas agus na cothroman a tha i a’ toirt dhuinn. Tha eachdraidh làidir againn ann a bhith a’ toirt taic do bhuidhnean agus phròiseactan a tha gu sònraichte airson a bhith a’ leasachadh, ag adhartachadh, a’ comharrachadh na Gàidhlig, agus a’ brosnachadh a cleachdadh gach latha.

Tha rannsachadh o chionn ghoirid a’ dearbhadh gu bheil an cànan na so-mhaoin chudromach, agus a’ soilleireachadh an iomadach cothrom a tha i a’ toirt dhuinn airson a’ leudachadh luach ann an  gnìomhachasan agus buidhnean air feadh na dùthcha. Tha Gàidhlig agus cultar aig cridhe ar n-obair – a’ suidhe ri taobh prìomh phrìomhachasan eile leithid neoni lom, obair chothromach, agus gleidheadh sluaigh.

Aig an aon àm, tha sinn a’ dèanamh cinnteach gu bheil urram aig a’ Ghàidhlig agus ga cleachdadh ann an HIE, nar dàimhean le buidhnean com-pàirteachais agus ag obair còmhla-ri luchd-dèiligidh.

Gaelic

Gaelic is an important part of cultural, economic and social life in the Highlands and Islands. At HIE we recognise its potential. We have a strong track record supporting organisations and projects dedicated to fostering, promoting, and celebrating Gaelic, and to encouraging everyday use.

Recent research confirms that the language is an important asset, and highlights the versatility it offers in adding value to businesses and organisations nationwide.  Gaelic and culture are central to our work – sitting alongside other key priorities like net zero, fair work, and population retention.

At the same time, we’re making sure that Gaelic is respected and practised within HIE, in our relationships with partner bodies and in our dealings with clients.

Who we work with

Taigh Chearsabhagh celebrates Gaelic culture, and North Uist's heritage. With funding through our Interreg North Sea Regional CUPIDO project, the arts centre has been able to present the story of the different elements of local music in an interactive way. It's providing a vital record of local heritage.
